What is included in my race registration?

All 5K participants will receive a full Santa suit and sunglasses.  All 1 mile runners will receive a Santa hat and sunglasses. There will additional holiday goodies for all participants at the finish. Note, for all participants 21+ years old, you will receive one complimentary drink ticket.

Where is the start line of the run?

The starting line is located at 900 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA 92109.

What is the schedule of events?

8:30am – Check-In & Registration Open (Note – you don’t need to check in if you picked up at packet pick-up)
10:00am – 5K Start
11:30am – Men’s Competitive Mile Start
11:40am – Women’s Competitive Mile Start
12:00pm – Kids Run
12:30pm – Dog Run
1:00pm – PB Holiday Parade begins

Will this race be timed?

The 5K run & Speedy Santa Mile will have optional chip-timing for an additional $3 fee. Each race will have an electronic clock at the finish line to view your time.

Where do I pick-up my race packet?

Thursday (12/8) Location: Road Runner Sports, 5553 Copley Dr. Time: 3-7pm
Friday (12/9) Location: The Closet, 875 Garnet Ave. Time: 3-7pm
Packet pick-up will be available race morning but we highly encourage participants to pick up at one of the early packet pick-up options.

Can I have my packet mailed to me?

We will not be mailing out race packets.

Can someone else get my packet at the Thursday & Friday packet pick-up?

Yes, they’ll just need to bring a copy of your ID (photo on your phone will work just fine) AND a signed wavier which can be found here

Is this event stroller friendly?

Absolutely! Strollers are welcome in all waves. Decorated strollers are highly encouraged!

Do I have to be some sort of elite runner for the Speedy Santa (aka competitive) wave?

Not at all!! We want to make sure those runners focused on running a particular time have a dedicated wave to do their best.

Can I run with my dog?

We have a wave dedicated to Santa’s Little Helper (aka your dog)! Dogs will not be allowed in other waves so if you want to run with your pup, sign up for the Santa’s Little Helper wave.

Will there be age group awards?

Yes!  New this year is optional chip-timing for an additional $3 fee for the Santa Run 5K.  There will be age group awards for those who choose to be chip-timed during the 5K run.

The Speedy Santa (competitive) 1 Mile wave have age group awards as well as cash prizes for the top 3 Male & Female runners.

The age groups will be: top 3 overall, 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+ (male and female categories for all these age groups).

Where can I redeem my complimentary drink ticket?

The Santa-fun doesn’t stop at the finish line! Enjoy a post-run complimentary drink at a local bar (bar locations are still being determined for 2017)

Can I get a refund for my registration?

All race registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable.

How do I volunteer?

If you would like to join the festivities as a volunteer, we would love to have you! Email us at info@sandiegosantarun.com and let us know you would like to volunteer. It takes a lot of support to make this event happen and it wouldn’t be possible without volunteers.

Does this event benefit an organization?

The event benefits the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade. The parade does not happen without the generous support of local businesses and residents. Now with San Diego Santa Run, we’ll be helping to ensure this Pacific Beach staple will continue for future generations. Additionally we’ll be accepting can goods in runner’s village to be donated to the San Diego Food Bank!
